The backlash to Donald Trump’s presidency is hard to miss, what with protests across city plazas and social media.
Hashtags against Trump are trending on social media as people vent their frustrations with the Electoral College and the president-elect’s stances on immigration. There are other trending topics on social media, such as the Marines and the Wu-Tang Clan, but even those have Trump posts tied to them.
Social Cues is our guide to what people are chatting about across Facebook and Twitter. Here’s what is trending on social media Thursday:
#TrumpProtest: Outrage is soaring across the country as protests against the president-elect have broken out in more than 25 cities. The pair were ambushed while responding to a domestic dispute call, officials said. One of the officers died from his wounds at Canonsburg Hospital. The suspect is reported to be dead, and social media users offered their thoughts, prayers and condolences to the officers’ families.
Wu-Tang Clan: The world may finally get to listen to the Wu-Tang Clan’s rare album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.” The only copy of the unreleased album sold for about $2 million and until this week had never been heard.
